![]() ![]() When you introduce a chemical in the exempted category, you must ensure that it meets all the requirements of this category. Submitting a PID is a reporting requirement under section 96A of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 and section 36 of the Industrial Chemicals (General) Rules 2019. If the circumstances of your chemical introduction changes and it no longer meets the exempted category, then you would need to follow the requirements of the new introduction category it falls under. After that, you no longer need to submit another PID for the same chemical introduction if it continues to meet the exempted category. You only need to submit a PID after the first time you introduce the chemical – that is, the first time you import or manufacture the chemical. ![]() This is a once-off declaration that you make at the end of the registration year for certain types of exempted introductions that you introduced during the year.
